In Mexico, the MapBiomas Mexico network reported a loss of 4.1 million hectares of native vegetation, while agricultural, livestock, and urban areas expanded by 3.9 million hectares.

In Peru, natural vegetation decreased by 3.7 million hectares, a 4% reduction from 1985 levels. This loss corresponds to a 53% increase in land used for human activities, totaling 4.3 million additional hectares. Mining experienced the most dramatic proportional growth, increasing by 2,510% nationally and 190-fold in the Amazon region.

Specific regional impacts in Peru include the loss of 3.2 million hectares of vegetation in the Amazon, a 50% increase in agricultural land, and a 168% expansion of urban surfaces. Additionally, the Andes saw a 54% reduction in glacier surface area, and the coastal desert experienced a 35% loss of its vegetation-free surface.
