A series of vehicle collisions has occurred on the Athens-Corinth National Road in Greece. In early September, a six-vehicle collision near Megara caused significant traffic disruptions and kilometer-long queues heading toward Athens. On the night of Friday, October 2, 2026, a fatal accident occurred on the Athens-Patras National Road near Delta Corinth. Around 23:20, a vehicle driven by a 26-year-old man, who was traveling with a 20-year-old passenger and a minor, veered off course and collided with a second car driven by an 18-year-old. The second vehicle was also occupied by two other 18-year-olds. The impact was severe, causing the vehicles to strike and destroy four lighting columns. Six people were injured in the crash. Two individuals required extrication by the Corinth Fire Service before being transported to the Corinth General Hospital. Tragically, the 26-year-old driver succumbed to his injuries. The Corinth Traffic Department is investigating the circumstances of the accident. Reports from the night of the incident also noted other fatal accidents in Greece, including a motorcycle accident in Chersonissos, Crete, involving a 16-year-old student, and a separate accident in the Heraklion region that resulted in the death of a 32-year-old driver.
