Authorities in the Mato Grosso region have recovered stolen vehicles following separate criminal incidents. In one instance, a Ford F-350 pickup truck stolen during a robbery in Nobres was found abandoned in the Chapéu do Sol region of Várzea Grande. Local residents alerted the Municipal Security Intelligence Center, leading to the vehicle being transported to a specialized station in Cuiabá for investigation. In a separate incident near Rondonópolis, four armed men held a 49-year-old truck driver captive for approximately four hours near Ouro Branco do Sul. The assailants forced the driver to unhook a Volvo FH 540 tractor unit and interrogated him about tracking devices before tying his hands and feet and abandoning him in a plantation. Supported by the Federal Highway Police, the Civil Police of Mato Grosso tracked the vehicle to a property in the Jardim Rui Barbosa region. At the scene, investigators recovered the truck, two signal jammers used to block tracking devices, and various parts and license plates from other stolen automobiles. A 33-year-old man was arrested, and the investigation continues to identify the remaining suspects involved in the robbery. This recovery effort was recently highlighted as part of broader law enforcement actions across Brazil targeting organized crime.
