The Hipódromo La Rinconada’s racing season in August 2026 was marked by major classic events, significant jockey movements, and veterinary challenges. The 32nd meeting on 16 August centered on the 71st Clásico República Bolivariana de Venezuela (GI), the final leg of the National Triple Crown. The 33rd meeting on 23 August featured several graded stakes, including the Grade II Clásico Gradisco and the Grade III Clásico Julián Abdalá. As the circuit moved toward the 34th meeting on 30 August, veterinary concerns emerged regarding the imported horse San Benito (USA) and the mare Yaqui Desings. The 34th meeting featured the LXXXVI Clásico Sprinters (GI), where trainer Oscar Manuel González secured a victory with Perfect La Combee. In early September, racing authorities led by Julio César León Heredia, president of the Junta Liquidadora of the Instituto Nacional de Hipódromos (INH), announced plans to revitalize the thoroughbred industry through specialized horse auctions. The 36th meeting on 13 September featured several high-profile competitions, including the XXIII Clásico Millard Ziadie (Grade II), won by Black Stone, and the XXIII Clásico Gelinotte (Grade II), won by Fatima Blush. The 37th meeting on 20 September included the Clásico Victoreado (GIII), where Kilimanjaro secured victory, marking the fifth win for trainer Germán Rojas in this event. In the Clásico Lanzarina (GII), Meheble, ridden by Francisco Quevedo, achieved a decisive victory. During the 38th meeting, Princesa Fina secured victory in the XLV Clásico ‘Hípica Nacional’, with the 5y6 Nacional pool reaching Bs. 927,173,513. Following a reported heel wound during a 1,300-meter race, veterinary authorities requested a full clinical examination and special samples for the horse Grand Gala (USA). The 39th meeting, held on 28 September, was headlined by the LXXXIII Clásico Jockey Club de Venezuela (Grade I), an 1,800-meter race with a $195,000 purse.
