In mid-August 2026, members of the Coalición Sindical, including workers and retirees, staged a protest in Caracas. Demonstrators blocked traffic on Casanova Avenue to demand inclusion in political dialogue meetings occurring at the Gran Meliá Hotel. Their specific demands included the release of political prisoners, the inclusion of labor issues such as wages and pensions in negotiations, and the establishment of a transition board to accelerate electoral processes. By late August, labor organizations expanded their efforts by launching a national dialogue titled ‘Diálogo y Consulta Nacional de los Trabajadores, desde el Corazón del Pueblo’. Representatives from over 25 sectors, such as oil, construction, and health, met to coordinate strategies. This initiative involves a nationwide tour of assemblies and factories intended to develop a working paper for a Grand National Congress, which is projected to occur between late 2024 and early 2027. As of late August 2026, these Venezuelan labor organizations continue to organize national consultations aimed at defending workers' rights amidst ongoing economic and political crises.
