In July 2026, six Venezuelan basketball players and a coach signed with teams in Mexico's Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, highlighting the league's growing draw for Venezuelan talent during the national off‑season. Following a double‑earthquake on June 24, the Venezuelan Liga de Baloncesto Nacional (LBN) announced that its 2026 season would be delayed from its original September 4 kickoff until late September.
