Vespa and Piaggio anniversary celebrations in Montopoli

Overview

In Montopoli, specifically the hamlet of Capanne, festivities for the Madonna del Buon Viaggio included a special exhibition to mark the 80th anniversary of Vespa. Organized with help from the Vespa Club di Pontedera, the event showcased 50 vehicles, such as Vespas, Ciaos, and a Piaggio tractor, many of which were owned by local families.

To acknowledge the historical and economic ties between the Piaggio company and the local territory, Mayor Linda Vanni presented a plaque to Riccardo Costagliola, president of the Piaggio Foundation. The celebrations also featured a Vespa rally through the Varramista villa avenue and a running race organized by the Girasole association.
