Vietnam Airlines is expanding its international flight network through the launch of new direct routes in late 2026. In early November 2026, the airline scheduled the commencement of direct flights between Ahmedabad, India, and Hanoi, Vietnam. Operating four times weekly, this service marks the carrier’s fifth destination in India, aimed at supporting tourism and business travel from the Gujarat region. Following this, the airline announced a new route between Hanoi and Hangzhou, China, set to begin on November 15, 2026. This service, operating four round trips per week, expands the airline’s direct network in China to include seven routes across four cities. Deputy General Director Nguyen Quang Trung stated that the early launch of this route demonstrates a determination to “expand international connectivity and drive trade, tourism, and economic growth” despite challenges such as fuel price volatility. Additionally, the airline is increasing flight frequency between Vietnam and Singapore to 42 round trips per week. This expansion includes a new direct service between Da Nang and Singapore using Airbus A321 aircraft. The move follows a 29.8% increase in Singaporean visitors to Vietnam during the first nine months of 2026 and aims to support business travel as Da Nang develops into an international financial center.
