Vietnam crypto asset regulation development

Vietnam has begun implementing regulatory frameworks for the cryptocurrency sector, focusing on anti-money laundering and market transparency.

In August 2026, the National Assembly passed amendments to several laws, including the Law on Anti-Money Laundering. These updates officially added “crypto asset services” to the list of business activities required to report to authorities. The new regulations identified 15 suspicious indicators to prevent money laundering, such as the use of anonymity tools, mixing services, and rapid transactions involving jurisdictions on the FATF warning list.

Following these legislative changes, the Ministry of Finance proposed new reporting and disclosure rules for the crypto asset trading market. The draft regulations would require service providers to submit daily transaction reports to the State Securities Commission, categorizing investors by type and detailing transaction volumes across specific value thresholds. Furthermore, the proposal mandates that platforms disclose bid and ask prices, while issuers must adhere to strict disclosure timelines regarding asset prospectuses and offering results.
