In late July 2026, Vietnam’s State Securities Commission revoked the public-company status of Golden Gate Group, the owner of several food-and-beverage brands including Kichi-Kichi, Gogi House, Hutong, and The Coffee House. The regulator cited the company's failure to complete required securities registration with the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC) and its failure to register shares for trading on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE) as the basis for the decision. Golden Gate Group maintained that the revocation is a purely legal change that does not impact its daily operations, financial health, governance standards, or commitments to customers, partners, and employees. The company reiterated that its long-term plan to launch an IPO remains unchanged and will be pursued when market conditions and internal preparations are suitable, noting that existing shareholders' rights are unaffected. Despite the regulatory setback, the food service group, which operates over 600 outlets, has set a record-breaking annual revenue target of 9,814 billion VND. By August 2026, the revocation of Golden Gate Group's status was identified as part of a broader regulatory trend where several prominent Vietnamese enterprises lost their public company status. Other companies affected by the State Securities Commission's enforcement included Saigon Port Joint Stock Company (SGP) and DMC - Southern Petrochemical (DMS), both of which failed to meet minimum non-major shareholder thresholds, as well as Aviation Printing Joint Stock Company (IHK), which lost its status due to insufficient equity.
