Various organizations and programs in Vietnam have launched significant financial initiatives to support poverty alleviation. During the 2026 ‘For the Poor’ peak month, approximately 30 organizations pledged roughly 366.9 billion VND to assist impoverished citizens with sustainable reduction efforts. In Ho Chi Minh City, an art exchange program titled ‘City of Sentiment - Connecting Love’ raised over 164 billion VND to fund housing repairs, education, healthcare, and livelihood tools for vulnerable groups. In Hanoi, the ‘Joining Hands for the Poor and Social Security’ program recognized contributors such as Vingroup and Sun Group, which each donated 10 billion VND. Between 2025 and October 2026, Hanoi’s city-level fund collected over 116 billion VND, while commune and ward-level funds received more than 126 billion VND. These resources have been used to build or repair 1,325 ‘Great Unity’ houses and provide medical and educational support. Officials reported that Hanoi no longer has households classified as poor under the central government’s multidimensional poverty standards. On October 26, 2026, Hanoi authorities and the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a program where 160 collectives, enterprises, and philanthropists contributed or pledged a total of 77.2 billion VND to the city’s Poor People Fund.
