Authorities in Vietnam have conducted several seizures of undocumented and unregulated food products across different provinces. In September, customs officials at northern border gates in Lao Cai and Tuyen Quang intercepted over 800 kg of undocumented frozen goods, including sausages, meat skewers, and eggs. Some items were found thawing or showing signs of mold and lacked legal invoices or origin documentation. In October, police in Phu Tho province seized 820 kg of undocumented pig intestines being transported on National Highway 2. The shipment lacked required quarantine certificates and documentation. The driver claimed the goods, purchased from slaughterhouses in Hanoi and Phu Tho, were intended for use as fish feed. On October 16, Phu Tho Provincial Police intercepted another truck on National Highway 2 near Vinh Yen carrying 250 kg of animal products, such as bones and organs, of unknown origin. The driver could not provide documentation for the goods, which were reportedly purchased from local markets and slaughterhouses for profit. The case has been transferred to Market Management Team No. 15 for investigation. Police warned that products with unverified origins pose significant food safety risks due to unknown slaughtering, transport, and storage conditions.
