Young entrepreneurs and students in Vietnam are preparing for a scheduled dialogue with the Prime Minister, focusing on sustainable development through technological innovation and human resource reforms. Early proposals emphasize integrating science and technology into business operations to optimize resources and create jobs. Students have specifically called for breakthroughs in high-quality training to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and labor market demands through closer collaboration with enterprises. As the dialogue approaches, specific initiatives have been proposed to support youth in the era of artificial intelligence. These include controlled testing programs, connecting young entrepreneurs with businesses to solve real-world problems, and supporting the export of digital services. The overarching goal is to help Vietnamese youth master new technologies and convert technological investments into practical economic value and digital transformation. On October 15, 2026, Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng held a formal dialogue with 300 youth representatives in Hanoi. The session, themed ‘Promoting the role of Vietnamese youth in entrepreneurship and innovation to stimulate growth and create jobs’, addressed challenges including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and automation. During the event, Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Tien Hai reported a youth unemployment rate of 9.07% for the 15-24 age group in the third quarter of 2026, notably higher than the general population rate of 2.22%. Data indicated approximately 1.6 million young people are currently not in employment, education, or training. Participants emphasized the need for improved vocational training, better digital skills, and increased access to preferential loans for startups to meet evolving market demands. Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son highlighted the necessity for students to ‘master AI rather than letting it replace human thinking’.
