Vietnamese artists reflect on small Hanoi residences

Public figures in Hanoi have shared reflections on their past experiences living in extremely small residential spaces.

Broadcaster Lưu Minh Vũ revisited a 6-square-meter room in a collective housing area on Phố Huế, which formerly housed five family members, including the late poet Lưu Quang Vũ and poet Xuân Quỳnh. The space, which currently lacks electricity and water, contains a loft and a collection of books and mementos belonging to the artists.

Similarly, People's Artist Quốc Khánh described his former 10-square-meter inherited home on Bùi Ngọc Dương Street. To manage the limited space, he utilized specially designed thin furniture and hung clothes flat against each other in a shallow wardrobe. Although he has since moved, he noted that he had decorated the interior with pink tones to provide warmth and comfort.
