Public awareness initiatives have been conducted in Brazil to combat domestic and family violence against women. The event aimed to help attendees recognize various forms of abuse—including sexual, patrimonial, and moral violence—and provided information on available support channels. In Mato Grosso, the Military Police’s Patrulha Maria da Penha held a session at CMEI Lúcia Helena as part of the ‘Agosto Lilás’ initiative. This event focused on educating the school community and parents on identifying abusive relationships and utilizing legal protections under the Maria da Penha Law. During the session at CMEI Lúcia Helena de Campos, Major Raissa and Sergeant Wenilson provided information to help participants identify signs of abuse and understand reporting channels. The lecture was part of the ‘Espaço de Saberes’ training program. School director Nelma Neres emphasized that education is a “vital tool for building a safer society” and highlighted the importance of partnering with the Military Police to strengthen support networks for preventing domestic violence.
