The wave of urban violence and criminal activity that began in late July 2026 has expanded through ~~early September,~~ mid-September, with police investigations spanning numerous German cities. In addition to ongoing investigations into a serious assault in Koblenz and a money-machine detonation in Hennef-Uckerath, new reports indicate a shooting in Cologne’s Mülheim district involving a family feud that left four people injured. In Karlsruhe, residents have reported a series of random gunshot incidents that have heightened public fear. Recent reports also highlight a rise in sexual offenses and targeted robberies. In mid-August, violence intensified with several fatal and critical incidents. In Ginsheim-Gustavsburg, a 23-year-old man was arrested after a 20-year-old was found dead. In Künzell-Engelhelms, a 46-year-old man faced court following a fatal attack on a 72-year-old man and the serious injury of a 67-year-old woman. In Hohen Neuendorf, police are investigating a case where a 19-year-old allegedly killed his partner before committing suicide via a train collision. In Göttingen, a 31-year-old man was critically injured in a stabbing, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect. In Wiesbaden, authorities are investigating multiple incidents, including a glass bottle attack, pepper spray attacks, and a mass brawl. Recent reports show continued escalation, including a man being held captive in Stein, a sexual assault in a ride-share vehicle in Regensburg, and a rape investigation in Lübben. In Frankfurt, two men were arrested for attacking police officers. In Cologne-Mülheim, unidentified individuals opened fire on a jewelry store window. Other incidents include a violent confrontation between rival biker groups near Paderborn and a series of robberies and assaults in the Minden and Petershagen areas. By August 20, new incidents emerged, including a stabbing in Witten where a 70-year-old man was arrested after a dispute with his 65-year-old partner left the victim seriously injured.
