Reports from Greece indicate several instances of violent crime and domestic abuse involving police intervention. In late July, authorities responded to two separate attacks on women. In Anathoupoli, police detained a man who had assaulted his wife and pursued her on a motorbike. In the Palaio Faliro district of Athens, an assailant attempted to rob a woman as she entered her apartment building; the suspect fled, and an investigation was launched. By mid-August, further incidents were recorded. In Kalimaria, a 29-year-old man was arrested for domestic violence after neighbors reported an altercation that left a woman with visible injuries. In Ptolemaida, a 35-year-old man was apprehended for attempted murder following a dispute in which he allegedly attacked another man with a sharp object, causing serious injuries. On August 20, two additional stabbing incidents were reported. In ~~Agios Dimitrios, a 23-year-old man allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old victim in the face and back during an attempted robbery; the suspect was apprehended with help from local residents. In~~ Thessaloniki, a 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested following a violent altercation in the 40 Ekklisies area. While the man claims the woman attempted to rob him of a watch, authorities are investigating the incident as a potential attempted homicide. The woman sustained multiple injuries to her arm, waist, and neck. In Agios Dimitrios, an 18-year-old football player was stabbed in the head and back during an attempted robbery while walking to practice. The victim required ten stitches and was treated at Evangelismos Hospital; he is reported to be out of danger. The 23-year-old suspect was apprehended after being identified by a witness. The victim’s mother stated that the attack ‘appeared to be an attempt on his life rather than a simple robbery.’
