In Tucumán, authorities arrested two suspects, Isaías ‘El Rey’ Delgado and Juan Manuel ‘Cucú’ Carabajal, following the fatal shooting of 21-year-old police student Kevin Samuel Rueda. Rueda was shot and killed during the early hours of a Saturday at the intersection of Avenida Colón and Fortunata García while traveling to participate in an institutional parade. Investigators believe the motive for the attack was the theft of Rueda’s white Honda Wave motorcycle. Authorities successfully recovered the victim’s motorcycle, which had been hidden in a sugarcane plantation near the Canal Sur area, along with a KTM Duke motorcycle believed to be linked to the suspects. Isaías Rubén Delgado, known as ‘El Rey,’ reportedly possesses a significant criminal history involving robbery and homicide dating back to 2010. Tucumán Security Minister Eugenio Agüero Gamboa confirmed the arrests and stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact roles of each suspect in the shooting and the robbery. Officials noted that while one detainee has a history of property crimes and violence, previous records did not always result in convictions due to procedural complexities. The case is being led by prosecutor Carlos Sale. In a separate incident in Las Breñas, a 39-year-old security worker died at Hospital 4 de Junio after being stabbed with a butcher knife during a disturbance at a pool hall. A 21-year-old suspect has been detained in connection with this homicide. Regarding the Rueda investigation, Isaías Rubén Delgado and Juan Manuel Carabajal have since been placed in preventive detention for the murder of the officer during the robbery. They face charges of homicide in the context of robbery.
