A series of violent incidents involving physical altercations and assaults has been reported in Munich. In early October, federal police investigated assaults on officers at the Munich-Pasing station following a dispute between two men. During the intervention, a Belgian national allegedly pushed an officer with a walking aid, and a Russian national resisted arrest and struck an officer. One officer sustained a minor injury. Later in October, additional violence occurred across the city. A major police operation at the Moosach S-Bahn and U-Bahn station resulted in at least one injury and significant transit disruptions. On a regional express train traveling toward Salzburg, a 20-year-old man attacked an 18-year-old, while a 32-year-old bystander suffered facial fractures while attempting to intervene. In a separate district, a 22-year-old man was arrested for allegedly using a machete during a dispute. On October 24, 2026, another violent attack occurred at the Moosach U-Bahn station. A 34-year-old man allegedly attacked a 49-year-old woman with a sharp object in the station mezzanine, causing her to fall several meters down a staircase. The victim underwent emergency surgery and is in non-life-threatening condition. The suspect, who reportedly appeared to be in a “disturbed psychological state,” was detained after bystanders prevented his flight. The Munich homicide squad is investigating the incident as attempted murder. A knife was recovered at the scene, and the attack caused significant disruptions to the U3 subway line. In a separate incident on a regional express train between two Munich stations, a 20-year-old Afghan national and a 36-year-old intoxicated companion allegedly attacked two passengers. An 18-year-old male sustained facial lacerations, while his 32-year-old companion suffered multiple facial fractures and potential vision impairment. The 36-year-old suspect tested positive for a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille. Federal police are investigating the matter as dangerous bodily harm.
