In mid-September 2026, police in Rome intervened in an incident involving a 38-year-old woman of Cuban origin who was brandishing a knife while naked near Ponte Milvio. After the woman reportedly threatened a passerby, officers used a taser to immobilize her. She was taken to San Filippo Neri hospital for medical evaluation. Later in the month, a separate violent incident occurred in Tor di Valle. On a Thursday morning around 8:00 AM, a 24-year-old Nigerian man was arrested after allegedly attacking a 28-year-old woman near the Tor di Valle railway station in Piazzale Ezio Tarantelli. The victim sustained an arm wound during the assault and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Local police (Polizia Locale di Roma Capitale, IX Gruppo Eur) responded after being alerted by a Romanian citizen, who was the victim’s partner. During the attack, the suspect reportedly attempted to strike both the partner and a bystander, though both avoided the weapon. Authorities seized a knife with a blade approximately 7 centimeters long that showed traces of blood. The suspect, who reportedly had no prior criminal record, was taken into custody and his arrest was validated following a summary judgment. On September 26, reports confirmed the arrest of the suspect in the Tor di Valle stabbing, noting that the weapon used in the attack was recovered at the scene.
