Violent incidents in Skopje
Overview
On August 13, 2026, two separate violent incidents were reported in Skopje, North Macedonia.
In the Čento neighborhood of the Centar municipality, an employee at a betting shop was stabbed during an attempted robbery. Emergency medical services transported the victim to the Emergency Center, and police established a heavy presence at the scene to investigate. The severity of the injuries and the identity of the attacker remained unconfirmed.
Separately, at a state institution, a 42-year-old security guard was physically attacked by a 48-year-old woman. The woman reportedly became aggressive toward a police officer who attempted to intervene. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the case is being documented for legal action.
