In mid-August 2026, a series of violent robberies occurred in Bergkamen, Germany. On August 15, a 17-year-old male was physically attacked and robbed of his wallet on Lothar-Erdmann-Straße. Police described the suspect as a man approximately 25 years old, roughly 1.90 meters tall, with dark skin and a three-day beard. On August 23, a group of approximately ten males, aged between 15 and 20, attacked three young people in a parking lot. The victims, aged 16 and 20, were pulled from their vehicle and beaten; one sustained a broken nose and another suffered a head wound. The attackers stole shoes, a high-quality wristwatch, and a power bank. Police described the group as having a “Southern European appearance and black hair,” noting one suspect wore a “black boxing glove or a plaster splint on his right hand.” Authorities are currently seeking witnesses for both incidents. The Bergkamen assault is among several criminal investigations being conducted by German police, which also include a jewelry store burglary in Düsseldorf and a robbery in Weilerswist.
