In the early hours of October 11, a group of approximately ten youths attacked passengers in a taxi near the intersection of Argonauton and Korai streets in Volos, Greece. The victims, reportedly from Skopelos, were forced from the vehicle and assaulted. One individual required ambulance transport to Volos Hospital for treatment. Following the incident, the Hellenic Coast Guard investigated the assault, which may have been linked to a prior altercation at a local nightclub. By October 12, two suspects aged 21 and 22 were arrested. They face charges of joint dangerous bodily harm, joint robbery, and conspiracy. The attack reportedly involved a group of individuals on motorcycles pursuing the taxi. In addition to the passengers, the taxi driver was injured while attempting to intervene. The victims, two men aged 24 and 25 from the Sporades islands, have reportedly identified the suspects, and the driver has provided testimony. The detainees have denied involvement, claiming they were still at the nightclub during the attack and intending to provide digital evidence evidence, such as social media posts and messages, to support their alibi. They remain in custody pending further judicial proceedings.
