Visa has introduced several initiatives centered on integrating artificial intelligence into its financial and security infrastructure. In the Asia Pacific region, the company launched the ‘Agentic Ready’ programme. This initiative involves over 50 banking and fintech partners across ten markets to prepare payment systems for autonomous AI agents that can conduct commerce on behalf of consumers. The programme seeks to address a trust gap in the region, where many consumers use AI for product discovery but remain hesitant to allow agents to complete purchases. Simultaneously, Visa has expanded its cybersecurity capabilities through enhancements to the Visa Vulnerability Agentic Harness (VVAH). This framework, developed following participation in Anthropic’s Project Glasswing, has evolved from vulnerability discovery to include automated remediation and validation. The goal is to reduce the Mean Time to Adapt (MTTA) by automating the fixing of attack paths. To support these technical updates, Visa is also expanding its Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) Cybersecurity Advisory Practice to provide risk assessment and leadership education. As cybercrime trends shift toward social engineering and AI-driven exploitation, Visa continues to expand the VVAH to include AI-powered remediation and validation. This development occurs as regional threats evolve; for instance, in Fiji, businesses face increased risks from ransomware groups using deepfakes and AI-powered phishing to target privileged users, necessitating faster defensive responses.
