Viticulture and maritime promotion in Huelva

The Huelva region is engaging in various initiatives to promote its wine and spirits sectors. The Diputación de Huelva has launched a call for applications for up to ten regional companies to participate in Barcelona Wine Week 2027, aiming to connect producers with international and national distributors.

Additionally, the fifth edition of the VIMAR Wine and Sea Fair has opened at the Espacio Santa Fe in Huelva. The event features over 55 exhibitors, including 28 companies from Andalusia, and focuses on the strategic fishing and viticulture sectors, which collectively generate over 100 million euros annually for the province.

A significant development for this edition is its international expansion, marking a milestone in cross-border cooperation through the participation of the Lisbon Region of Portugal. This includes representation from five Portuguese municipalities: Mafra, Loures, Oeiras, Vila Franca de Xira, and Sesimbra, strengthening the event’s role as an Iberian platform for Southern Europe. In addition to commercial promotion and technical dissemination, the fair features gastronomic demonstrations and business meetings. Local authorities, including the Port Authority of Huelva, have highlighted the economic dynamism of these industries, noting the significant volumes of wine and seafood moved through the region’s port annually.
