Walt Disney World Resort is currently implementing various refurbishments and updates across its theme parks. In the Magic Kingdom, Big Top Souvenirs in the Storybook Circus area is scheduled to reopen on August 21 following a six-month closure that began in on February 20, 2026. The reopening is expected to feature ~~new themed food items, such as~~ “sweet surprises and tasty treats,” including Mickey Churro Caramel Apples, Dumbo Caramel Apples, Dumbo Sandwich Cookies, and ~~Dumbo-inspired treats.~~ various themed cupcakes and marshmallow pops. Additionally, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing extensive work on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. ~~Crews have erected scaffolding around~~ The project, which has been progressing since early May, has entered a new phase as of early September. Scaffolding has expanded to cover much of the ~~building and~~ facade, including the area above the Hollywood Tower Hotel ~~sign~~ sign, the corner section adjacent to ~~repaint~~ the ~~facade, applying~~ shaft, and the right side of the building. While crews previously applied bright pink ~~paint before adding~~ paint, a ~~distressed finish.~~ new gray finish is becoming increasingly visible on the balcony and chimney stack sections. Other recent updates include work on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, and the repainting of Cinderella Castle.
