Walt Disney World seasonal demand and 2027 price hikes

Overview

Walt Disney World is experiencing high demand for its seasonal events. In mid-September, the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom was nearing capacity, with only three dates remaining for the 2026 season: September 24, September 29, and October 25. By late September, the Halloween party had completely sold out, shifting focus toward the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

By mid-October, the sellout trend for the Christmas party intensified. As of October 16, eight of the 25 scheduled nights had reached capacity, with five dates in November and three in December already unavailable. Notably, the final two celebrations occurring immediately before Christmas had already reached capacity. This trend continued into late October, with the party selling out for two key dates during the Thanksgiving holiday period: Wednesday, November 25, and Friday, November 27.

Demand for other holiday events is also rising. The opening night of Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, scheduled for November 7, sold out nearly a month in advance. Additionally, Disney released details for the Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic, a two-day culinary event on November 20 and 21, 2026, requiring separate tickets priced at $234.90 per day.

In addition to seasonal demand, Disney has announced significant ticket price increases for the first ten months of 2027. Under a date-based pricing system, peak one-day admission for Magic Kingdom is set to rise from $199 in 2026 to $219 in 2027. Other increases include EPCOT rising to $214, Disney’s Hollywood Studios to $209, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom to $189.
