Walt Disney World has reintroduced the Disney Water Park Seasonal Pass in Orlando. Valid through May 15, 2027, the pass provides admission to both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, though it is subject to specific blockout dates. Currently, Blizzard Beach is operational while Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment. Regarding accessibility, Disney is reportedly phasing out all-terrain or beach wheelchairs at select locations. While standard wheelchairs and Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) remain available for rent at all theme parks and Disney Springs, guests have noted the removal of specialized equipment previously used to navigate terrain at water parks such as Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Disney’s website currently states that Blizzard Beach does not provide waterproof or water-accessible wheelchairs for use in pools or attractions, limiting standard rentals to paved dry pathways and walkways. Additionally, Disney has filed a patent application for a ‘Rider Inclusive Transport Aide.’ This proposed technology aims to assist guests with disabilities on rides involving non-flat surfaces or lifts by equipping ride vehicles with a sloping access platform to offset inclines, potentially addressing difficulties with boarding or evacuating wheelchair users when a ride stops on a slope.
