Warner Bros. has announced a delay for the theatrical release of Gremlins 3. The film, which was originally scheduled for November 19, 2027, is now expected to debut in cinemas on October 6, 2028, in the United States and October 5, 2028, in Germany. Despite the rescheduling, the project is moving forward with Chris Columbus directing and producing, and Steven Spielberg serving as an executive producer through Amblin Entertainment. The screenplay is being developed by Hannah Marks, based on a draft by Columbus, Zach Lipovsky, and Adam Stein. While promotional teasers have featured the character Gizmo, specific plot details and the full cast have not yet been disclosed. This production marks the first live-action installment in the franchise since 1990. Warner Bros. Discovery previously announced the project during a 2025 investor conference. Production involves Amblin Entertainment and 26th Street Pictures.
