Warsaw police in the Wola district arrested a 16-year-old boy suspected of planning a mass murder. Following a tip, authorities searched the minor’s home and seized an arsenal including machetes, knives, a brass knuckle, a telescopic baton, and objects resembling firearms, as well as a bulletproof vest and incapacitating gas. Sub-inspector Marta Sulowska stated the minor was taking steps to create the conditions necessary to carry out a “mass murder project”. A juvenile court ordered the teenager to be placed in a regional educational center for three months. Police have also submitted evidence to initiate procedures that may lead to further isolation measures for the minor. Subsequent reports indicate the investigation was initiated following an email from a professional probation officer. The teenager’s lawyer, Ewelina Zawiślak, has challenged the police findings, asserting that the items, such as the knives, were intended for collection rather than criminal use. The defense also clarified that the vest found was a standard tactical vest rather than bulletproof and that the seized gas was pepper spray.
