Waste management initiatives in Bistrița-Năsăud

Overview

ADI Deșeuri Bistrița-Năsăud, in partnership with SUPERCOM SA, initiated a free bulky waste collection campaign running from August 17 to August 22, 2026. The campaign serves the municipalities of Bistrița, Beclean, Năsăud, and Sângeorz-Băi, as well as surrounding localities.

Eligible items for collection include furniture such as sofas, wardrobes, and tables, along with bicycles, scooters, large toys, and inflatable pools. Residents are instructed to place items at recyclable waste platforms in apartment areas or in front of gates in house areas, provided they do not obstruct traffic.

Alongside the collection efforts, the organization is distributing a composting guide to households in Bistrița residential areas. Manager Cristian Niculae noted that the guide is intended to help residents transform bio-waste into natural compost for gardens and lawns, supporting efforts to reduce overall waste levels.
