Water management initiatives and municipal updates in Xalapa, Mexico

In Xalapa, Veracruz, Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos has inaugurated the Municipalist Water School to address regional water deficits. Developed in coordination with the Municipal Commission of Drinking Water and Sanitation (CMAS) Xalapa and the Integral Water Resources Management Unit, the initiative aims to promote rainwater harvesting and efficient water use through citizen participation and government collaboration. The school is intended to serve as a learning center for water technologies and community-based solutions to improve water quality and distribution, complementing ongoing efforts by CMAS to improve hydraulic infrastructure and storage systems. In addition to water management initiatives, the municipal administration has launched new paving projects in the Ampliación Renacimiento and Carolino Anaya neighborhoods. The city has also issued a call for local artists to participate in the ‘Ruta de Calaveras Monumentales’ for upcoming Day of the Dead celebrations.
