Weather forecasts for Jakarta, West Java, and East Java extreme weather in Indonesia

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued weather predictions for Jakarta and West Java in late October and early November 2026. In Jakarta, late October forecasts indicated light rain for South and East Jakarta, while North Jakarta was expected to be hazy. By November 4, BMKG predicted light rain across most of Jakarta, including Central, West, South, and East areas, with temperatures between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius. North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands were expected to remain hazy with temperatures between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius. For West Java, BMKG previously predicted light to heavy rainfall from November 2 through November 5 due to the Madden-Julian Oscillation and Kelvin waves. This included warnings for Bogor, Bandung, and Sukabumi regarding moderate to heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. In East Java, weather conditions for November 4 were forecasted to differ significantly from the rainy patterns in Jakarta and West Java. Regions including Surabaya, Sidoarjo, and Gresik were expected to experience sunny and hot weather, with temperatures potentially reaching 36 degrees Celsius. As Indonesia transitions into the rainy season, extreme weather and hydrometeorological disasters have caused casualties. In Bali, a landslide at Glamping Pelaga Eco Park in Badung has left two people missing. In North Sumatra, a fallen tree in Dairi caused one death and one injury, while heavy rainfall caused the Ular River to overflow in Deli Serdang, forcing 51 residents to evacuate. In East Java, flash floods in Lumajang affected over 1,400 households, and flooding occurred in four districts of Malang. BMKG Juanda has issued warnings for 21 regencies and cities regarding potential floods, landslides, and strong winds through November 9.
