In late July 2026 WhatsApp launched an “Event” function for scheduling meetings within group chats, offering titles, dates, times, locations, virtual‑call links, RSVP options and reminders. Early August saw the addition of several group‑chat management tools. An “@all” mention lets users alert every participant; in groups larger than 32 members the ability is limited to admins, it bypasses muted chats but can be muted in notification settings. Polls were upgraded with an automatic closing time, optional anonymity that hides voters’ names, and a 15‑minute window to edit the question after posting. A “Create similar group” button now spawns a new chat that inherits the original members, streamlining side‑conversations such as surprise‑party planning or project coordination. These enhancements follow earlier updates that added message history, member tags and event reminders, By early August the three tools – @all mention, poll controls, and are being phased quick group creation – were confirmed available to users in across mobile and desktop versions worldwide, Brazil as part of the worldwide rollout, extending WhatsApp’s capabilities for large‑group communication.
