Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation efforts have been documented across various provinces in Argentina. In Misiones, police conducted five separate operations to rescue animals including a capuchin monkey, a dog, a toucan, a hawk chick, and a land tortoise. These animals were transferred to specialized organizations like the Ohana Rescue Center and the Bird Garden for veterinary care. Subsequent efforts in Santa Fe and Mendoza focused on the release of rehabilitated animals. In Santa Fe, an adult male aguará guazú was released into a rural area of the San Cristóbal department following medical protocols at the ‘La Esmeralda’ center. In Mendoza, coordinated operations resulted in the release of six animals, including a gray fox, a coypu, a rat snake, and two black vultures that had previously suffered fractures or injuries from gunfire. More recent operations have expanded to include animal cruelty investigations and urban rescues. In Buenos Aires, the Specialized Fiscal Unit in Environmental Matters (UFEMA) conducted a raid in the Boedo neighborhood, rescuing two dogs kept in unsanitary conditions. The owner faces charges of alleged animal cruelty, and the dogs were moved to the NGO Refugio Don Torcuato. Additionally, in Paraná, emergency responders and firefighters rescued a mother weasel and approximately 11 offspring from a washing machine, later releasing them into a rural area.
