Wisconsin Fox Cities EF3 tornado

On July 27 2026 an EF3 tornado ripped through Wisconsin’s Fox Cities, striking Appleton, Menasha, Fox Crossing, Neenah and surrounding communities. The storm produced wind gusts near 140 mph, a 12‑mile track and a width of about 1.5 km, toppling trees, damaging roofs, flipping vehicles and cutting power to tens of thousands. Roughly 60‑70 people were treated for injuries, but no fatalities were confirmed. Local officials declared emergencies and Governor Tony Evers issued a state of emergency for the affected counties.

By July 29 the emergency response continued. The governor’s order activated the Wisconsin National Guard, and local leaders imposed a curfew. A boil‑water advisory remained in place for Menasha and Fox Crossing after water‑system pressure loss. Power had been restored to about 12,000 customers, while crews worked on debris removal and infrastructure repairs. Recovery efforts and safety measures persisted in the weeks following the tornado.
