In mid-October 2026, discussions regarding the role of women in Polish rural development and health gained momentum through several organized events. A conference in Warsaw titled ‘The Future of the Polish Countryside in Women’s Hands’ addressed demographic shifts, agricultural innovation, and the economic security required to retain young people in rural areas. The event noted the increasing role of women in farming, citing that women managed 31.5% of agricultural holdings in the European Union in 2023. Following this, new initiatives were announced to support women through health and entrepreneurship. In Starachowice, a conference focused on gynecological health and oncological support was scheduled for late October. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development launched the ‘W zdrowym ciele zdrowy duch’ series. This program, held in various locations such as Bratoszewice and Wróblewo, targets women in Rural Housewives' Clubs with panels on nutrition, personal safety, and rural entrepreneurship. On October 22, 2026, the AgroWoman Impact 2026 conference in Warsaw furthered the dialogue on female leadership and entrepreneurship within the agricultural and agri-food sectors. Drawing on the 2025 AgroWoman Report, which indicates women constitute approximately 30 percent of the workforce in Polish agriculture, the event addressed the limited representation of women in industry organizations and public debate. The conference, featuring representatives from the FAO, the European Commission, and various scientific and business sectors, aimed to use mentoring to strengthen professional competencies. The event concluded with a gala honoring 25 female farmers from the AgroWoman 2026 mentoring program.
