Women's Tour de France events

In late July 2026, Canyon SRAM announced the "We Femmes" initiative, a community‑driven program designed to attract at least 1,000 new female cyclists each year for a decade. The campaign will launch publicly during the 2026 Tour de France Femmes, which runs from 1 August in Lausanne to 9 August in Nice, with a special jersey supplied by Ryzon and additional activities such as rides, workshops and cheer zones.

A few days later, the women's Tour de France itself began, featuring a record‑long 1,175 km course with 18,775 m of climbing over nine stages, including a celebrated Mont Ventoux finish. The start list comprised 147 riders from 21 teams, highlighting defending champion Pauline Ferrand‑Prévot and former winners Demi Vollering and Kasia Niewiadoma‑Phinney. The race also marked a first for the Navarre region, fielding two riders—Idoia Eraso and 19‑year‑old Paula Ostiz—who competed together for the first time.

Together, the campaign and the race underscore a growing emphasis on expanding participation and raising the competitive profile of women's cycling in Europe.
