Greek rower Stefanos Ntouskos participated in the inaugural World Rowing Shanghai Sprints in China. The event utilized a non-traditional 500-meter knockout format held on a course through the urban waterways of Shanghai. Ntouskos, who was scheduled to compete in both the men’s single sculls and Shanghai, characterized by turns rather than a mixed double sculls alongside Lithuanian Olympian Victoria Senkute, ultimately traditional straight track. Competing as part of the World Team, Ntouskos secured the gold medal in the men’s single sculls. He finished the final sculls with a time of 1:37.90, 1:37.90. His path to victory included defeating German world champion Oliver Zeidler in the quarterfinals and Konan Pazzaia of Ireland in the semifinals. In the final, he overcame Callum Dixon of Great Britain and Konan Britain, who finished second, while Pazzaia of Ireland. took third and China’s Deng Zhiwei finished fourth. This result gold medal represents an improvement from his Ntouskos’s silver medal performance at the same event the previous year.
