In Oranienburg, Germany, a 500-kilogram American bomb was found 6.5 meters underground during a systematic search. The device featured an intact chemical long-term fuse, necessitating a 1,000-meter exclusion zone and the evacuation of approximately 4,700 residents. The disposal operation caused disruptions to local schools, senior living facilities, and public transportation, and was briefly delayed by unauthorized persons entering the restricted area.

In the Netherlands, a World War II explosive was uncovered during dredging operations in the Oude Rijn. While not considered immediately dangerous, authorities opted for a controlled detonation as a precaution against potential gunpowder. The projectile was transported to Leiderdorp, where the local mayor personally triggered the explosion following an investigation by the Explosieven Opruimingsdienst Defensie (EOD).
