Preparations are progressing for the 48th WorldSkills Competition, scheduled to take place in Shanghai from September 22 to ~~27.~~ 27, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. The event, described as the ‘Olympics of Skills’, is expected to host approximately 1,400 young competitors from roughly 70 countries and regions across 64 skill categories. In the lead-up to the event, the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Executive Bureau announced its second cohort of “Dream Ambassadors,” featuring “Great National Craftsmen” to promote vocational careers. International participation is also being finalized, with Austria preparing a delegation of 48 professionals and Hong Kong organizing its largest delegation to ~~date.
