Greece and the Netherlands continue to lead UEFA Nations League Group A2 with eight points each. Greece, led by Ivan Jovanović, remains undefeated through four matches, including a historic 1-0 victory over Germany in Augsburg and a 0-0 draw against them at Toumba Stadium. This momentum has seen the Greece national football team rise to 41st in the FIFA rankings. Greece is positioned to potentially secure a quarter-final spot and is pursuing a bid to host the Nations League Final 4 in June 2027, provided they reach the final stage and secure government support. The Netherlands, under new head coach Xavi Hernández, also holds eight points following a 2-1 victory over Serbia. Xavi’s tenure has seen squad changes, including the omission of veteran striker Wout Weghorst and injuries to players like Micky van de Ven. Xavi has also expressed concerns regarding the congestion of the international match week schedule. Germany, now managed by Jürgen Klopp, faces a difficult campaign. Following a 1-1 draw in his debut against the Netherlands and a 1-0 loss to Greece, Germany sits in third place with five points. Klopp has implemented a strict disciplinary code and a large 44-man roster to rebuild the team's identity. As Greece prepares for its next fixture, the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) has released tickets for the upcoming match against Serbia. Scheduled for November 16 at the Panthessaliko Stadium, the game offers a significant opportunity for the Greek team to qualify for the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals for the first time in its history. Tickets are available electronically via the PAME ETHNIKI platform, with adult prices ranging from 10 to 30 euros. Separately, concerns persist regarding the low number of Greek referees appointed to UEFA club competitions, with minimal representation noted in recent major fixture schedules.
