In late July 2026, the Eurasian Economic Commission certified Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and Xiaomi 18, clearing the way for a global rollout beyond China. This certification signaled a shift from the China-only Xiaomi 17 Pro Max strategy. The devices are expected to utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors, with the Pro models potentially featuring 200 MP main and telephoto-macro cameras. In early August, Xiaomi expanded its hardware portfolio with the Pad 8S Pro tablet, featuring a 12.5-inch 3.2K LCD, a custom Xring O3 processor, and a 12,000 mAh battery with 120 W fast charging. Additionally, the company introduced the Smart Camera 4 Max AI Zoom Edition, a dual-lens AI-enhanced camera capable of 4K video and utilizing an in-house large language model to recognize falls or unusual pet behavior. By mid-August, reports suggested a potential staggered release for the Xiaomi 18 series. Leaks from ‘Digital Chat Station’ indicate the Xiaomi 18 Pro may debut as early as late September, potentially following the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit scheduled for September 22–24. The standard Xiaomi 18 model might not arrive until December. The standard model is rumored to feature a Leica-tuned dual-camera system with a 200-megapixel sensor, a departure from its previous triple-lens setup. The series is expected to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, manufactured via TSMC’s 2nm process. Further hardware leaks regarding the tablet lineup suggest the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max may feature a 13-inch LCD screen and be powered by Xiaomi’s proprietary Xring O3 AI flagship SoC. This 3nm chip is expected to include a ten-core design and a G2-Ultra NX GPU, with storage configurations reaching up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The tablet is anticipated to be unveiled in September.
