XRP network activity and infrastructure stability
Overview
The XRP ecosystem has recently navigated periods of market volatility and technical challenges. Initially, the asset saw a 10% price surge toward $1.10 accompanied by a 24% increase in network activity, with active addresses reaching nearly 50,000. During this time, holders sought passive income through lending and cloud mining due to the lack of native staking rewards.
Following these developments, the XRP Ledger (XRPL) infrastructure stabilized after a “manifest storm” attack in July, where hackers sent counterfeit certificates to disrupt validator nodes. While the attack caused connection issues, it did not prevent the network from reaching consensus.
Recent scrutiny has also emerged regarding transaction composition. Data indicated that in August 2026, a small group of 793 accounts accounted for 93.2% of XRPL transactions, leading some critics to label the network a “ghost chain.” Supporters defended the volume, citing low transaction costs, while technical progress continues with the xrpld 3.3.0 Permission Delegation amendment moving toward the validator voting process.
