Yıldırım Municipality in Bursa is implementing various social social, environmental, and environmental economic initiatives. The municipality has established environmental and zero waste programs, such as ‘Plastiksiz Yıldırım’ and ‘Paratık Yıldırım,’ which serve as models for other local governments in the Bursa region. Furthering economic empowerment, the municipality launched the Home-Based Women's Employment Program through the Yıldırım Municipality Cooperativism Development Center (KOGEM) and the Directorate of Women and Family Services. This initiative allows women with family responsibilities to generate income via home-based production. Currently active across 15 neighborhoods, the program has seen participation from 88 women. Mayor Yılmaz noted that the municipality prioritizes strengthening women's labor and intends to expand the program to reach a wider demographic.
