Manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi has provided several updates regarding the production progress of Hunter x Hunter following the series’ resumption of serialization in Shonen Jump in late June. On August 10, Togashi announced the completion of the manuscript for chapter 425. By late August, he reported that the background specification documents for chapter 429 were finished. During this period, Togashi shared a sketch of the character Killua, which prompted fan speculation about the character’s role in the current Succession Contest arc. Togashi also noted that managing the large number of characters involved in the upcoming chapters has presented production challenges. In early September, Togashi signaled the completion of new manuscript pages by sharing a photo of a yellow envelope labeled ‘H x H Chapter 427’. The post featured the Sanrio character Pom Pom Purin, continuing a trend of Togashi’s interest in the character. Additionally, a Japanese convenience store’s use of the fictional ‘Hunter alphabet’ on a notice regarding a lottery promotion went viral, as fans attempted to decode the message.
