Zayn Malik KONNAKOL Tour in South America

Overview

Singer Zayn Malik has been conducting his ‘KONNAKOL TOUR’ across South America. In Buenos Aires, Malik performed at the Movistar Arena, marking his first solo appearance in Argentina since 2014. The set featured music from his fifth studio album, KONNAKOL, alongside tracks from his debut album.

Following the Argentina shows, Malik performed in São Paulo, Brazil, at Nubank Parque. During the Brazilian concert, Malik drew social media attention for wearing a Flamengo jersey while performing at the home stadium of rival club Palmeiras. After realizing the local rivalry, he apologized to the crowd and changed into a Palmeiras shirt, explaining he was unaware of the tension between the clubs.

Malik addressed the friction by stating, ‘I didn't want to offend anyone. I just like the team.’ To mitigate the tension, he briefly changed into a black shirt before returning to the stage in a Palmeiras jersey to show respect for local fans. The incident went viral, prompting a lighthearted response from the Flamengo club. The São Paulo performance also featured Brazilian singer GIANA as the opening act, marking her milestone as the only Brazilian artist to open for Malik’s solo show in the country.
