ZDF is premiering a new German workplace mockumentary series titled ‘Nine to Five – Das Amt’. Set in a fictional Berlin citizens’ office, office in Berlin-Tiergarten-Mitte-West, the eight-part series follows Ronja Keller, played by Friederike Kempter, a new department head from the private sector. The character is described as a “female counterpart to the ‘Stromberg’ style of horror-boss character” who utilizes private-sector skills and various tricks to advance her career within a rigid bureaucratic environment. The plot explores the clashes between Keller’s ambitions and a team defined by established routines routines, complex hierarchies, and administrative chaos. The series, ensemble cast includes Lisa Hrdina as Conny Beckmann, Yasin El Harrouk as Orkan Günes, and Kathrin Angerer as Doris Köhler. The series is based on characters created by Tülin Sezgin, is available who used her real-life experiences as a civil servant in Berlin and her social media project ‘Conny from the Block’ as a foundation for the production. Sezgin also appears in a minor role as a canteen manager. Following its availability for streaming on ZDFmediathek and starting October 2, 2026, the series is scheduled to air in weekly double episodes on ZDFneo starting on Tuesday evenings at 21:45, beginning October 27, 2026.
