Professional wrestler Zilla Fatu departed the House of Glory (HOG) promotion in August 2026 following a championship loss to Amazing Red in New York. His departure sparked speculation regarding a move to WWE, supported by previous reports of his training at the WWE Performance Center. Fatu subsequently made his official debut in WWE NXT debut on the August 11, 2026, episode. episode of NXT. Reports indicate that WWE intended for him to debut using his established name rather than undergoing a name change. During a match between Cruz Montana and Grayson Waller intended to determine a number one contender, Fatu interrupted the bout, causing a disqualification. He proceeded to assault both competitors with a Samoan Drop, a Superman Punch, and consecutive splashes, resulting in a no-contest finish. Following the assault, Fatu confronted the NXT Champion, Tony D’Angelo, at ringside. Declaring himself the ‘new sheriff in town’, Fatu signaled his intention to challenge for the title, an arrival that significantly alters the championship landscape heading into the upcoming Heatwave event. Fatu, a 26-year-old member of the Anoa’i wrestling family and son of the late WWE star Umaga, was trained by Booker T. His arrival in NXT follows a period of competing on the independent circuit.
