ZNAM movement political and institutional activities
Overview
The ZNAM – Za Nasha Makedonija political movement has transitioned from seeking expanded roles within the government coalition to reporting on its institutional activities.
Initially, party president Maksim Dimitrievski stated the movement expected to be allocated an additional deputy minister position within the coming month, noting that cooperation within the current government coalition was at an “excellent level.”
Following this, the movement released an institutional report detailing its first two years in parliament. The report highlighted investments in healthcare, specifically the modernization of the University Clinic for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. These efforts included approximately 700,000 euros in new medical and robotic equipment, with an additional 450,000 euros planned for further development. The movement also secured a 1.5 million euro grant from the World Bank for the clinic’s reconstruction and energy transformation.
Expanding on its activities, Dimitrievski delivered a report to citizens in Gostivar, citing the implementation of over 1,200 municipal projects involving infrastructure such as schools, waterworks, and streets. He also stated the movement is working to increase public sector wages in the administration, education, health, and security sectors through collective agreements.
Regarding foreign policy, Dimitrievski affirmed Macedonia’s commitment to European Union integration but emphasized that the nation has established “red lines” regarding its language, identity, and culture. While supporting dialogue and improved relations with Bulgaria, he maintained that bilateral issues should not act as preconditions for the country’s European path.
